Livestock Minister, Hon. Sekie Agisa join hands with collegue Minister Hon. Richard Maru who is the Minister for Internation Trade and Commerce together with the Managing Director for Livestock Mr. Terry Koim to launch the Wariman Livestock station project in December 2024 – Yangaru-Sausia Electorate East Sepik Province.
Hon. Sekie Agisa, MP – Member for South Fly is the Minister for Livestock Development activities in Papua New Guinea under the Marape – Rosso Government. The Minister provides political directives through the Board which oversees the operation of Livestock Development Corporation of Papua New Guinea.
Minister’s office plays a vital role in shaping the country’s livestock sector. The Ministerial responsibilities include directing and overseeing the implementation of Livestock Sector Development policies that enhance and aspire to increase revitalization of Livestock Farming, Abattoirs, stockyards, and increase livestock breeding in the stations ensuring animal health, improved production practices, and promote sustainable livestock management.
Minister Agisa reports to Cabinet and Prime Minister and Members of the National Executive Council on significant Policy Matters relating to the Massive Livestock Sector development potential the Country has and the projects and activities that the Livestock Development Corporation initiates and undertakes each year.
One significant milestone undertaken by Livestock Development Corporation under the direct guidance of Minister Sekie Agisa is the launching of the Livestock Development activities re-entry in the Sepik Plains in December 2024 after many years of neglect by past successive management.
