This involves our aggression to deliver the MTDP IV Directions of the Marape – Rosso Government.

Reclaim and Reconstruction

Many of the Livestock Development Corporation Cattle Ranches and abattoirs had been abandoned and neglected over the years and illegal settlement had engulfed the properties beyond revive.

However, had been abandoned and natural vegetation had flourished. Buildings and structures were demolished for reclamation and reconstruction.

Cattle Breeding Programs

Cattle Restocking exercises to replenish our cattle ranches nationwide is anticipated to continue for the next couple years. Examples are Launakalana, Baiyer, Zuguru, Urimo, and Sagalau.

Regional Breeding centers will be established for distribution to the SME farmers nationwide and the DDAs

Abattoir Rebabilitations

Delivery of materials to rehabilitate Tiaba Abattoir that had been ran down and left to decay for over many years.

The Abattoir had been rehabilitated and will be launched for operations soon.

Capacity Building

Building Accommodation for staff at the Livestock Stations and Ranches are ongoing as being part of our capacity building exercises.

Above is constructed at Tiaba outside Port Moresby, Launakalana Cattle Estate in Rigo, and the Wariman Livestock Station in East Sepik Province

Cattle Ranch Capacity Building

Above is constructed at Launakalana in Rigo District of Central Province to accommodate Livestock Development Corporation staff at our Cattle Breeding Center for the Southern Region

Livestock Feed Farming

Grass planting to provide sufficient feeding stations for the cattle and other livestock. Above is classical example by LDC officers planting grass near Zuguru cattle Ranch.

Reclaim LDC Stations and Ranches

Extensive drainage and demolition of illegal settlement occurred at the Wariman Livestock Station. The picture above is demonstration of excavation works around the perimeter of the LDC Wariman property.

LDC supports Small holder Livestock Farmers

Livestock Development Corporation provides support to Small holder  livestock farmers and provides technical capacity where needed..
